MavisBATESPassed away peacefully on 16th July 2025, aged 99 years.

Beloved wife of the late Harold, and much loved aunt to Barbara.

Mavis was a gifted pianist and talented conductor. Throughout her life, she shared her passion for music with many, notably through her work with the Rolls Royce Male Voice Choir, the West End Choral Society, and several other local musical groups.

Mavis spent her later years at Brookfields Nursing Home, where she was cared for with warmth and compassion. Barbara would like to thank all the staff at Brookfields for their exceptional care and kindness.

A service to celebrate Mavis's life will take place at St Paul's Church, Chester Green, Derby on Monday 18th August at 11.30am followed by a private committal at Nottingham Road Cemetery.

Should you wish to remember Mavis, the family kindly asks that instead of large floral arrangements, flowers or a living plant be considered, something to be enjoyed by the staff and residents at Brookfields. Donations in Mavis's memory are also welcome for the Woodland Trust and Music for All.

A lively and humorous lady with a lifelong love of music, Mavis will be remembered with great affection. All Enquires to Central Coop 3-5 Southview, Littleover, Derby Tel 01332 332302.
